Welcome to another Manic Monday! Are you feeling stressed, or struggling, about scheduling a vacation? As a small business owner, the reality is that when we don’t work – we don’t get paid. Right now, especially, it’s challenging as we come out of a pandemic. Our revenues are down. We’re just getting our business back to firing on all cylinders. Maybe we are even starting to have our team back.
It just seems impossible to go on vacation with everything going on, and it feels this way for me too! I know one of the things I’ve really been working with clients on recently is how we can rest as hard as we work. How can we stop operating at the red line all of the time and gear down to a place where we can rest, relax, and most importantly – recharge!

Let me tell you that planning a vacation this summer is absolutely CRITICAL. If you’re anything like me, you may even have a little FOMO. You see friends and acquaintances leaving to go on vacation or visit family, and it’s hard! You’re thinking “I don’t know if I can do that…”
This week we are going to talk about some things you can do to help! We’re going to dive into some tips and tricks to help you find some time to go on vacation. For example, maybe the thought of going on vacation and leaving your phone at home for 14 days makes you sick to your stomach. So, what you can do, is start small. Make some time once or twice during the day where you set a timer for 30 minutes. You can sit down for a quick check-in and reply to any urgent emails or messages. This can help you feel in control, stay connected to your business while giving you the space to recharge, rest, and do the things you love.

These are some of the things I will be talking about in my interview with Susan Elford. She is my coach and has been in business for 18 years. Susan really has this vacation thing figured out! She is going to give us some ideas, and maybe a little inspiration on how we can get there as well. Especially when you are a little newer in your business like I am!

Stay tuned, and I hope this helps you find a magical time to have a vacation!
